The Company’s flagship Julia Creek Project currently holds a 2,867Mt Vanadium JORC Resource with an average V2O5 content of 0.31%, with 461Mt in the Indicated category and 2,406Mt in the Inferred category, making it one of the single largest Vanadium deposits in the world, with the added benefit of a contingent (SPE-PRMS 2018) in-situ oil resource of 6.3 MMbbls of Oil equivalent in the 1C category, 94MMbbls in the 2C category, and 654MMbbLs in the 3C category, contained within the same ore body.
The globally significant vanadium pentoxide resource contained within oil shale at the Julia Creek Project, represents an opportunity for development. In short, QEM seeks to reap the rewards of multiple commodities from a single deposit.
QEM’s tenements, which cover 249.6km² in the Julia Creek area of North Western Queensland, Australia, form part of the vast Toolebuc Formation, which is recognised as one of the world’s largest deposits of vanadium and oil shale. In close proximity to all major infrastructure and services, the Project is intersected by the main infrastructure corridor of the Flinders Highway and the Great Northern Railway, connecting Mount Isa to the Port of Townsville.
This unique world-class deposit, provides QEM with the opportunity to supply critical markets such as energy storage, the global steel industry and the liquid fuels sector.

Mr Wall is a highly experienced company director and executive across energy, infrastructure, transport and resources sectors, with a strong leadership track record at multiple ASX100 companies. His impressive list of recent achievements includes driving a strategic shift in manufacturing while President of Global Manufacturing and Corporate HSE for Incitec Pivot. He also delivered highly successful operational outcomes while occupying senior managerial positions at Caltex Australia and BP Australia.
Mr Wall currently serves as a Senior Advisor – Oil and Gas at management consultant dss+ and as a Director for energy consultant TJW Energy, with specific expertise in hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing, storage and transportation, and energy storage technologies.
Mr Wall brings strong ESG credentials to the QEM Board, exemplified by his four-year board tenure on the not-for-profit National Association of Women in Operations.
Mr Cooper is a mining executive with more than 30 years' industry experience, having held roles across a diverse range of commodities, both in Australia and overseas. He is a mining engineer with a broad foundation of operating and technical experience in operations as well as project evaluation and development. He also has experience in the battery materials field having been a non-executive director (NED) with Novonix (ASX:NVX) for more than six years.
Mr Cooper has previously held leadership positions as MD & CEO with New Century, CEO with Round Oak Minerals (100% owned subsidiary of Washington H. Soul Pattinson), and with BHP as General Manager of Leinster Nickel Operations and Asset President of Ekati Diamonds in Canada. In addition to Novonix, he has also held NED roles with Syndicated Metals and Verdant Minerals.
Mr Harris is an accomplished mining executive with 37+ years in all aspects of the resources sector and has held executive roles in companies located in Russia, South Africa, USA and Australia.
Graduating from the University of Nevada with a Bachelor of Science and Chemical Engineering, he has developed a specialisation in vanadium. He currently holds directorships in U.S. Vanadium LLC, Australian Vanadium Limited (ASX: AVL), Flinders Mines (ASX: FMS) and acts as an independent technical consultant to GSA Environmental Limited in the United Kingdom.
Previous roles include interim CEO and Managing Director at Atlas Iron; Chief Executive & Operating Officer at Atlantic; Vice President & Head of Vanadium Assets at Evraz Group; Managing Director at Vametco Alloys; General Manager of Vanadium Operations at Strategic Minerals Corp.
As a vanadium industry veteran, Mr Harris brings a wealth of experience to QEM and is an invaluable asset to the Company in the exploration and development of its Julia Creek project.
